Thru-traffic and truck detours

Construction will be completed in phases, starting in April 2024 through Fall 2025. Most work in 2024 will be focused on the Highway 59 corridor, and in 2025 crews will switch to working on Highway 108. All work and schedules are weather dependent.

  • Stage 1A (Hwy 59, from bridge to 4th Ave SE) began April 15 and is expected to take approximately two months. Work includes replacing city utilities, bridge resurfacing, upgrading sidewalks, constructing roundabout at Hwy 59/108 east junction.
  • Stage 1B (Hwy 59, from 4th Ave SE to 5th Ave SE) will begin after Stage 1A.
