Provides Accurate Communication
About the measures
Open decision-making performance measures provide an important opportunity to understand how the public feels towards MnDOT in two key areas: public trust and public confidence. Public trust and public confidence data come from a public opinion survey of a representative sample of Minnesota’s population conducted every two years.
Recent trends
In 2022, 67% of respondents agreed that MnDOT communicates accurate information about transportation plans and projects. The result was a 15 percentage point decrease from the 2020 but was consistent with the proportions from previous years.
Where we want to go
Accountability, transparency, and communication are essential to open decision making. Transportation decision-makers are stewards of the transportation system and have the responsibility to make informed choices and be open about how and why decisions are made.
